Frequently Asked Questions

 

Many people run in to the same problems. To save you a trip to the TechSpace, see if your problem can be fixed by reading these frequently asked questions. If your problem is not listed below, or the fix doesnt work, come see one of us at the TechSpace. We will be glad to help!

"SSL Connection Error" pops up when I try to access the internet

 

The first thing to do is try a different browser. If that doesnt work, make sure you are using the FCCPS wifi network. To make sure you are using the right network, click on the wifi button on the bar at the top of the screen and select FCCPS. It should connect automatically. If this does not do the trick try the next option...

In the launch-pad there is a app called "Self Service" Open the app and sign using your school login. Search for "SSL Error" then install the plug in you see by clicking the download link. You may need to install the "Upload to Google" plugin as well if you use Chrome. If this still doesnt fix your issue please come to the techspace.

I can't download software I need for a class

 

In the launch-pad there is a app called Self Service. Open the app and sign in using your school login. Search for the software and install it by clicking the download link. If this doesnt work please come to the techspace.

2)

My internet isn't working

 

Restart the laptop. Open a browser and navigate to a website. This will prompt you to log into the FCCPS wifi network. Once on the wifi, follow the directions for fixing the SSL Error. If you still can not get on, please visit the TechSpace.

3)

My internet isnt working at my house

 

Restart the laptop. Try different browsers. Turn the WiFi off and on. If it still does not connect, bring the laptop to the TechSace.

4)

Schoology/Google Drive doesn't work
 

Restart the laptop. Try different browsers. and check the status pages: Schoology Status Monitor and Google Apps. If nothing works, please visit the TechSpace.
